In 30 years, the number of tourists increased significantly in Nepal. Here you will find several examples to illustrate how tourism evolved and why it is crucial to act right now.

40% return rate, which is the best rate all over the world.

From 2000 to 2012, number of tourists in Nepal turns from 400 000 to 800 000.

In 1980 there was 25 000 trekkers in Nepal, they were 105 000 in 2012.

In 2012, 36 000 trekkers came through Lukla, where only 300 people are living permanently.

The rules that apply to the lodges were created in 1981 and have never been amended.

To dissolve :

– a plastic bag takes 100 years

– a plastic bottle takes 150 years

– a plastic cap takes 400 years

…and it never completely disappear, particles stay in the air, the earth and the water.
